The foundation laid by Antoine Normand has been instrumental in establishing and growing our ecosystem. These efforts have strengthened our ability to defend against an ever-evolving array of cyber threats. Yet, as we look to the future, we must amplify our efforts to ensure that Canadian expertise not only remains competitive but also sets the benchmark on the global stage.
Our cybersecurity ecosystem, once fragmented, now thrives on collaboration and shared synergies, driven by leaders in innovation, seasoned experts, and bold pioneers who work together to consolidate and enhance this framework of growth and prominence that the Canadian cybersecurity cluster has become.
Before being elected president, I had the honor of serving as a member of the cluster, actively participating and closely observing its remarkable development. Trust has been the cornerstone of this evolution. It has manifested among our dedicated members, our collaborators, as well as the governments and all the organizations involved in our projects and initiatives since 2017. This same trust now enables more than 2000 Canadian organizations to benefit each year from the expertise of our partners.
Yet, as we look to the future, we must amplify our efforts to ensure that Canadian expertise not only remains competitive but also sets the benchmark on the global stage.
Each year, significant investments flow into enhancing the cyber resilience of our nation’s infrastructure and organizations. However, the challenge remains to ensure these investments yield maximum benefit within our borders, fostering growth and innovation among Canadian enterprises rather than drifting towards more established international entities.
IN-SEC-M was born out of a need for a cohesive structure capable of bridging the gap between the private and public sectors, encompassing all players in the cybersecurity domain. This unique position allows us to advocate for a stronger, more integrated Canadian presence in the global cybersecurity arena.
My vision for IN-SEC-M is to harness this unity and drive forward with a renewed focus on fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. By doing so, we can cultivate an environment where Canadian companies lead with cutting-edge solutions, educational and training institutions produce world-class talent, as we push the boundaries of what is possible in cybersecurity.
To achieve this, we will need unwavering commitment, mobilization, and resilience. These qualities are not in short supply within our membership, which continues to grow year after year. Our collective know-how and innovative spirit are the cornerstones upon which we will build a more secure digital future for Canada and the world.
Together, we will transform Canada into a global cybersecurity powerhouse. The cluster is our vehicle for this journey, and I am confident that with our combined efforts, we will succeed in pursuing our core missions, thereby ensuring sustainable economic growth, a robust industry, and a safer digital landscape for all.
