October is Cyber Security Awareness Month

Internationally recognized, Cyber Security Awareness Month takes place every year in October to inform the public about the importance of cyber security. This year’s theme is “Life Happens Online”.

Now more than ever, everyone is connected on the Internet. Whether it is for work, to talk with family and friends, or for entertainment. Almost every household is connected to the Internet.

Should you be scared of cyberattacks?

We use our devices on a daily basis, which means we are more vulnerable than ever before. But that doesn’t mean we should be scared of them.

With the right set of protections, businesses and individuals can protect their information online.

After over a year of being so connected to the internet, it’s still important to make sure we’re doing it securely.

Throughout the month, the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security will showcase many ways the internet can help you live your lives as normally as possible while letting you know how you can stay connected safely. Check out their programming : https://www.getcybersafe.gc.ca/en/csam-themes

How can In-Sec-M help you get cyber safe?

Canadian businesses are noticing an increase in cyber attacks year after year. The financial and reputational costs of a security breach are enormous and can put a business at risk.

This is why In-Sec-M joined forces with the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) to support businesses in adopting better cybersecurity to reduce the impact of cyber-attacks and to enable them to be more competitive on national and international markets.

The program can cover more than 90% of the costs. Click here to see if your business is eligible: https://insecm.ca/our-services/security/
