How to do Business with NATO?

On October 15, In-Sec-M and NATO hosted a virtual presentation for all Canadian companies and organizations to demystify the process of purchasing and acquiring cybersecurity technologies and services.

Martin Bedard, Canadian Liaison Officer, NSPA, introduced Virginie Viscardy, a representative from NCIA, NATO’s primary C3 capability and cybersecurity provider, will present the structure.

Mrs Viscardy described the NCI Agency: ‘’Our mission is to lead NATO’S Digital Endeavour. We are NATO’s technology and cyber leaders. We help NATO Nations communicate and work together in smarter ways. With the COVID-19, we provide equipment (mobile phones, laptops and video conference equipment). The goal of our Academy is to develop and deliver world-class C4ISR education and training services, including cyber, across the NATO enterprise.‘’

Erik Esselaar, a Canadian Defense Liaison Officer at the NATO Cyber Security Centre, explain his essential role with the Atlantic Alliance: “Our mission is to provide effective, agile and resilient cyber defences in order to enable the secure execution of the Agency’s mission and NATO consultation. Our 2020 Cyber Security Programme counts 20 Cyber security Services, 60 Projects, 300M euros portfolio value and 34.8M euros revenue. 70-90% of all cyber incidents are preventable by good cyber hygiene. We have a Cyber Security Hygiene indicators programme to ensure that. ‘’
