Devolutions: your security is our reason for being
According to surveys by the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA), 40% of respondents have experienced a cyber attack in the past 12 months. One in ten respondents faced 20 or more attacks. These data are certainly alarming for citizens, but they are even more alarming for SMEs which constitute more than 90% of the total number of companies and half of the world GDP according to the International Council for Small Business (ICSB). Being aware of these issues, software development consultant David Hervieux decided to develop appropriate tools that will ensure user security and productivity. These innovations will allow him to found the Devolutions company in 2010 in Lavaltrie.
Tailor-made innovative solutions
With a team of more than 100 people, Devolutions offers SMEs and professionals in various sectors present in more than 130 countries, privileged access, password and remote connection management solutions. In addition, she supports them remotely in the configuration of products.
How is Devolution positioned toward the competition?
Maxime Trottier, vice-president and responsible for sales and marketing, says that: “the cybersecurity sector is dominated by big players who share all the revenues. However, Devolutions sets itself apart by working with SMEs, which often have few financial and human resources, by offering them affordable, productive solutions that are easy to deploy. ”
What does being a member of In-Sec-M earn you?
Being a new member of In-Sec-M, Mr. Trottier affirms: “With the existing gap between the Canadian, American and European markets, our mission is to educate users to bring them back to the same level as other countries. Thus, with In-Sec-M we hope to be able to accelerate the movement, work hand in hand with other companies in cybersecurity by offering our expertise, in addition to visibility to better help companies in need. ”
The challenges of Devolutions
Growing, Devolutions faces challenges like so many other companies. “With a business model as efficient as ours, the challenge is to accelerate the rate at which solutions are adopted by SMEs,” explains Mr. Trottier. Although they are aware of their challenges, SMEs often do not have the resources to access the need. This is where it becomes important for us to educate them in the process and according to their needs. ”
Having received in 2019 the Gartner Peer Insights Customers ’Choice for privileged access management, Devolutions is attentive to new cybersecurity trends to offer the best. For SMEs looking for cybersecurity solutions, Mr. Trottier’s advice is: “take the first step and make sure that the solutions offered are easily deployable, this small step makes a big difference. ”
