The Canadian Cybersecurity Cluster
In-Sec-M, the Canadian Cybersecurity Cluster, in collaboration with Global Affairs Canada & Trade Commissioner service offices in Singapore and Malaysia is organizing a market development mission in the cybersecurity sector to Singapore & Malaysia from October 13 to 19, 2024, at the occasion of GovWare 2024 Conference.
This mission is the logical follow-up to an exploratory mission led by In-Sec-M to Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia in October 2023. While this mission enabled us to confirm the high export potential of this market, and to meet with the main local players, both public and private, the 2024 mission targets, at the suggestion of the Canadian trade commissioners, the best event to meet the major buyers in Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region.
From a cybersecurity perspective, Singaporean and Malaysian authorities are eager for cutting-edge technology that can secure their governmental, commercial, and financial infrastructures, especially in an environment where competition and ambitions of the neighboring major power make the issue even more urgent and crucial.
Singapore’s cybersecurity market is worth $3.7 billion in 2024, and is expected to grow to $6.4 billion by 2029, representing a compound annual growth rate of over 16%, compared with almost 11% in Canada.
In Kuala Lumpur, the vibrant Malaysian capital, mission participants will have the opportunity to meet with representatives of leading public and private organizations active in cybersecurity. A visit to the brand-new cybersecurity center of excellence launched last year by Canadian firm Blackberry is also on the agenda.
Numerous private meetings will be organized alongside GovWare, including various networking cocktail, in partnership with local players and the Canadian diplomatic representation on site. In-Sec-M will also take the opportunity to present Canadian cybersecurity services and solutions to local buyers.

This trade mission aims to boost Canada’s economic ties with Singapore, Malaysia and, more broadly, with the Asia-Pacific region. It aims to support the development of business relationships between Canadian and organizations from the Asia-Pacific region, as well as to promote collaboration in research and innovation.
By positioning Canada as a business and research partner, this mission will also help showcase the cutting-edge expertise of Canadian cybersecurity players and introduce these same executives and representatives to some of the Canadian companies with the greatest export potential, either through direct sales, through distributors or by establishing strategic partnerships with local companies.
