Webinar: Cybersecurity and Telework for Aerospace Businesses
Aero Montreal held a bilingual webinar on cybersecurity and aerospace companies last week. Nicolas Duguay, director of business development at In-Sec-M and Patrick Patterson, president and managing director at Carillon hosted this webinar. The goal was to understand the importance of cybersecurity in business and the concrete recommendations / actions that must be taken now to improve IT security.
“Globally, there are more and more attacks on small businesses, said Mr. Duguay. In Canada and Quebec, there are more and more cyber attacks, not to mention the companies that are currently experiencing leaks without having detected them. Indeed, it takes on average between 6 to 12 months to detect a cyber attack. According to KPMG Cybersecurity, there has been a significant drop in breaches in the past few weeks, so we would be in the eye of the storm.”
Mr. Duguay then presented the 12 best practices suggested by In-Sec-M to strengthen cybersecurity in the telework environment.
Mr. Patterson also presented the various Spec42 criteria developed to confirm identity, signature and confidentiality in the aerospace industry.
Created in 2006, Aero Montreal is a strategic concertation forum that brings together all of the first leaders of the Quebec aerospace sector from industry, educational institutions, research centers and including associations and unions. Aéro Montréal’s activities are made possible thanks to the participation of the governments of Canada, Quebec and the Montreal Metropolitan Community, as well as member companies of the cluster.
