In-Sec-M at the EPIC Summit
Antoine Normand, Chair In-Sec-M & CEO BLueBear, has attended the fourth annual EPIC Summit at Calgary on November 5-6. He animated the round table introduction and he participated at two panels.
The first panel, ANTICIPATING THE DARK SIDE OF THE FOURTH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION, was presented by Jean Le Bouthillier, CEO Qohash Inc. and In-Sec-M member, as well as Sheraz Ali, Founder and Executive Director of the European Cyber Resilience Research Network (ECRRN). Panel experts have predicted how emerging technologies 5G, IOT, Smart Cities, BioMetrics, Autonomous Vehicles and Crypto Currency, while intended for good, are converging in a perfect storm of escalated criminal opportunity. Panelists have shared preparation game plans to get ahead of the threats.
The second panel M. Normand was involved, FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT – CYBERCRIME COLLABORATION & ACCESS TO TALENT AND INNOVATION, was presented by Richard Frank, Assistant Professor, School of Criminology, Simon Fraser University, Raymond Kelly, Cybercrime Lead, Calgary Police Service and Kris Ruiter, Chief, Stakeholder Engagement Public Services and Procurement Canada Panelists have explored access to talent, innovation, existing and new procurement programs. Public Service and Procurement Canada, private sector innovators, and academia have provided perspective on barriers, success and propose new models to support a rapidly changing digital world under new threats.
